Far-infrared absorption in bulk YBa 2Cu 3O 7-x superconductor

The far-infrared absorption has been measured directly for a superconducting YBa 2Cu 3O 7−x pellet for frequencies ≤ 25 cm −1 using a calorimetric technique at 6 K. Finite absorption is observed at all frequencies down to our lower limit of 5 cm −1.
