Summary:The structure, resistivity, Meissner effect and magnetization measurements were performed on Ba 2GdCu 3O 7− y . It was found that oxygen contents not only influence drastically on structure and superconductivity but also on magnetic behaviors at low temperatures while magnetic transition temperature remains unchanged. Moreover, paramagnetic susceptibility obeys different Curie-Weiss laws with θ positive or negative value over different temperature ranges.
