The quadrupole coupling constants of deuterium in CH 2DCH 2Br and CH 3CD 2Br obtained from NMR of nematic phases and including vibrational averaging

The spectra of the title compounds have been analysed to give information on the deuterium coupling constants. The effect of small amplitude, harmonic vibrations are considered, and it is suggested that for molecules with high barriers to internal motion this can be done by assuming the molecule occ...

Summary:The spectra of the title compounds have been analysed to give information on the deuterium coupling constants. The effect of small amplitude, harmonic vibrations are considered, and it is suggested that for molecules with high barriers to internal motion this can be done by assuming the molecule occupies only the positions of lowest potential energy with respect to rotation about the CC band.
