Summary:The system La x Ba 1− x TiO 3 has been examined over the complete range of lanthanum substitution ( 0 ⪕ x ⪕ 1). Throughout most of the composition range the unit cell is cubic with the lattice parameter decreasing with lanthanum content. At the composition LaTiO 3 the symmetry is orthorhombic. The thermoelectric power of this system has been found to be negative throughout and decreases in magnitude with the lanthanum content.
