Summary:The paper examines the role and position of science in the society and present-day person mentality. Contradictoriness, consideration and perception extremity of different sociality phenomena are stressed, including person’s attitude to the science and its role in the society. The antinomy of perception is determined, on the one hand, by scientific and technical factor, which is the topping criterion of contemporary civilization indicating the public and cultural development. Absolute faith in science and sci-tech progress was common for industrial society till the mid-twentieth century but with tendency of decrescent stability. On the other hand by the turn of the century when the practical scientific advances take on special significance, quite the reverse tendency appeared and prior absolute faith was reviewed. The reasons of this phenomenon are analyzed in the given research.
