Summary:Solar power has increasingly participated in the central power system with a large proportion in recent years, this leads to impacts on power system operation. This paper assesses the impact of solar power plants on the frequency and voltage variations of the central power system. The entire diagram of Vietnam's power system with regard to 2025 is modeled on the PSS/E software - version 35.0, in which the dynamic models of traditional power plants as well as wind and solar power plants are integrated for dynamic simulation. Hoa Hoi solar power plant in Phu Yen province was selected to establish three research scenarios: The sudden shutdown of the entire plant, the change of solar irradiation and the short circuit on the transmission line. The research results show that, the impact of the solar power plant on the frequency and voltage variations of the central power system.
