Summary:National marine aquatic germplasm resource conservation areas play an important role in maintaining biodiversity and promoting the healthy development of fishery economy. In this paper, this paper sorted out the current construction status of national marine aquatic germplasm resource conservation areas, and systematically analyzed the spatial and temporal distribution of the conservation areas, the main protection objects, and the special protection period. The results show that, at present, China has constructed 11 batches of 53 national marine aquatic germplasm resource conservation areas, covering 67 marine commerical species germplasm resources, of which 36 are included in the "List of National Key Protected Economic Aquatic Animal and Plant Resources" (First Batch) (Revised). In terms of spatial distribution, the average area of conservation areas is ranked from laege to small as East China Sea, Bo Hai, South China Sea and Yellow Sea, and the overall average area of conservation is 871,484.29 hm2.
