Summary:In the 1992 crisis, television played a central role, mirroring reality through its distorting lens and at the same time affecting it through specific narratives. A symbolically representative television program is Avanzi, a comic and satirical genre format broadcast from 1991 to 1993. Born in the innovative Rai 3 of Angelo Guglielmi, if in the first edition Avanzi ironically proposed the scraps of Italian TV, opening a reflection on trash TV, in subsequent editions the program, conceived and conducted by Serena Dandini, moves from satire on television to political and costume. From here emerges the story of an Italy marked by a decaying party system, of a state threatened by adverse forces and corruption, and of a country increasingly disillusioned and far from politics.
