Summary:The objective of this work was to characterize the fungi present in the particulate material as an indicator of risk of respiratory diseases in Ocaña norte de Santander. For this, three filters extracted from each of the stations of the UFPSO-CORPONOR monitoring network were sampled, 5 random points were taken within each filter with dimensions of 1cm2 and inoculated into potato dextrose agar (PDA) culture medium at 20 ° C for 15 days, The results showed the presence of 3 genera of microscopic fungi: Penicillium sp, Aspergillus niger, Rhizopus sp and unicellular fungi such as yeast, which have a high incidence in respiratory diseases such as: pneumonia, systemic mycoses, hypersensitivity and mycotoxicosis.
