Summary:In the field of digital technology, there is a big gap between the development level of coastal cities. Analyzing the source of digital technology efficiency differences and convergence characteristics can help to accelerate the construction of China’s “smart marine city”. To this end, based on the panel data of 53 coastal cities from 2013—2019, this paper constructs an input-output analysis framework, utilizes the super-efficient SBM model based on non-expected outputs and the Malmquist index for static and dynamic measurements of digital technology efficiency, and based on the different administrative levels, utilizes the Kernel density estimation method, Dagum Gini coefficient, the σ convergence and β convergent to study the dynamic evolution, difference decomposition and convergence analysis of digital technology efficiency in coastal cities. The results show that (1) the digital technical efficiency of coastal cities is in a fluctuating upward trend, mainly pulled by technological progress, among which t
