Summary:This paper presents a cultural approach of games as a medium, in both digital and non-digital representations, by mapping games as tools to convey cultural significance based on their design. During the research, it was possible to identify many cultural influences that contributed to the construction of the game culture, considering its tangible and intangible aspects. Thus, we understand that the relationship between games and culture – and the way in which design was influenced by different practices and habits – has impacted the development of a specific game culture.
