Summary:Knowledge management is part of a process of establishing networks aimed at the production and transfer of knowledge between public universities and subsidiaries of multinationals that, in their desire to insert themselves in the local market, seek strategic alliances with academia to overcome the cultural barrier that contradicts the globalization of production and consumption styles. In this sense, the purpose of this research lies in the establishment and contrast of a knowledge management model. A non-experimental, cross-sectional and exploratory study was carried out with a non-probabilistic selection of 457 students, professional practitioners and social servants in multinational branches. The motivational leadership factor reflected knowledge management (β = 0.538). However, in the discussion of the literature reviewed, the extension of the study to contexts and samples influenced by the institutional quality policies of the State is noted
