Summary:This article features research on the relationships between initial teacher education and pedagogical practices of Basic Education teachers, aiming to know their professional demands in the scope of training and use this knowledge to problematize the curricula of undergraduate courses at the University. From the methodological point of view, a quanti-quantitative approach is developed through the application of a questionnaire with 100 teachers with Teaching degree in Arts, Literature, Pedagogy and Portuguese, from schools belonging to the state and municipal education network, in the municipalities from Rio Grande do Sul. This study is based mainly on studies by Tardif (2002) and Wood (1996), starting from the principle that it is necessary to listen to the teacher to understand their practice, to know their demands and to incorporate their knowledge in Teaching Courses. The teachers perceive the gaps in their training, the curriculum until your practice. In general, the data show that even though these teachers´ higher education courses addressed the subsidies for pedagogical consistency, the reality teachers face leaves them immobilized in the face of certain conditions (Fiss, 2015)
