Summary:It was made a comparative study of the performance in the Mancala game of children with and without difficulties of attention. Four children between the ages of nine (9) and eleven (11) years old participated in the study. It was used the Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) Scale (version to teachers) and the Diagnosis Table of ADHD (version to parents). The participants were divided into Group A (traces of difficulties of attention) and Group B who didn’t show up traces of this difficulty. It was taken ten workshops in the school and four situation problems were presented for each child. It were analyzed the performance in workshops (victories) and behaviors of unattention (CDT-1 and CDT-2). The results point out to the fact there is a non-profit as to the performance on the matches from people of Group B when compared to the people from Group A, contrary to the initial hypothesis. In relation to CDT-1 and CDT-2 the children from Group A presented a bigger number of them when compared to the children from Group B. The results permit the widening of the discussion about the difficulties of attention and the relativization of supposed cognitive limitations that the children with such features have.
