Summary:At present, there are few researches on the tribological behavior of the coatings on piston skirt at high temperature. In this paper, a wear - resistant and friction - reducing composite coating for use in piston service environment was prepared using graphite and molybdenum disulfide as fillers and polyimide (PI) as binder, and the tribological behavior of coatings with different components at 200 ℃ and 400 ℃ was studied. Moreover, the thermal stability of the coatings was characterized by a thermogravimetric analyzer (TGA), and the friction and wear properties of the coatings were characterized by a friction and wear tester and a scanning electron microscope (SEM). Results showed that the graphite/PI coating had better high - temperature resistance. At 200 ℃, the molybdenum disulfide/graphite/PI coating had the lowest friction coefficient, which was 0.175; at 400 ℃, the friction coefficient of coatings both increased, however owing to the decomposing of molybdenum disulfide, the friction coefficient of grap
