Summary:Five brands of imported brominated butyl rubber products used widely in domestic drug packaging field, including the medical products 2211, 7211 and general products 2222 made by ExxonMobil, 2030 from Arlanxeo and 232 from NKNK, were systematically analyzed, involving microstructure, molecular weight and its distribution, content of additives, metal elements and residual solvents, as well as turbidity and ultraviolet absorption of extracting solutions by ultrapure water. The performance and quality requirements of brominated butyl rubber products for drug packaging were also introduced or explained. Finally, it was pointed out that domestic manufacturers could promote the localization process of medical brominated butyl rubber by in-depth study and optimization of the existing gaps between domestic and imported products.
