Summary:Introduction. This article discusses the history and development of knowledge management, which emerged more than 30 years ago in the 1990s of the 20th century. This approach quickly moved beyond academic concepts and became an important component of managing organizations in the knowledge economy. It is discussed how knowledge management is related to epistemology, a philosophical and methodological discipline that investigates the structures and development of knowledge. It also emphasizes the impact of IT technologies that contribute to the evolution of the knowledge economy by shaping new possibilities for creating, storing and sharing knowledge. The introduction highlights the importance of studying the current state of knowledge management to assess its impact on organizational development. Materials and methods. The article deals with the issues of knowledge management. The most cited scientific publications in this field are analyzed. The dynamics of the number of scientific papers devoted to knowledge management in English and Russian language journals is studied. The level of elaboration of this subject area in scientific papers is shown. The main models and approaches are considered, the review of the current state of management systems in the Russian Federation is carried out. The main components of the knowledge management system are analyzed and its graphical model is proposed. The main components of the corporate knowledge management system are considered, the interrelations of these components are investigated. The main bottlenecks in the application of knowledge management methods in the Russian Federation are formulated. The general directions of improvement of knowledge management systems at the enterprises of the Russian Federation and the UR are revealed. The ways of development of corporate knowledge management systems are suggested. Results and conclusions. The results of the analysis show a significant increase in the number of publications on knowledge management over the last two decades. More than 100 different definitions of knowledge management are highlighted, with a focus on one of the most cited, which emphasizes the importance of knowledge delivery strategy. The article emphasizes the relevance of implementing knowledge management approaches to improve the efficiency of business processes in Russian companies. The need to develop a strategy focused on human intellectual capabilities, as well as the formation of a corporate culture that promotes the sharing and dissemination of knowledge, are key aspects of successful implementation of knowledge management systems. Removing existing barriers and creating an enabling environment for knowledge sharing can significantly improve the competitiveness and sustainability of organizations in a rapidly changing economy.
