Summary:Sunnah, as the second source of religious knowledge after the Holy Qur'an, has experienced events such as forgery, distortion, and Taqiyyah, etc., during its lifetime, which led to differences between narrations, and therefore its criticism and investigation is necessary. Muslims paid attention to this importance during the era of the presence of the innocents, and later religious thinkers also left writings on presenting the correct way of interacting with hadiths. The result of this attention is to state criteria for resolving the differences, such as documentary review of narratives and attention to the actions or ignorance of famous scholars. But sometimes there is a conflict between these criteria, which becomes difficult to resolve due to the strength of the criteria of each of the parties; like when there is a conflict between the strongest (Sahih) narration and a weak narration with practical reputation. In this article, this issue has been discussed in a descriptive and analytical way. What is important in resolving such conflicts is to identify the stronger sign in the issue, which after examining the theoretical views and the practical encounter of the scholars, it became clear that the evidences of the authority of reputation is more powerful than the criterion of authenticity of the document; Therefore, the weak narration practices by the majority will take precedence over the authentic (sahih) narration.
