Summary:This article intends to discuss whether it is possible to affirm today that technological development is leading to a break between the growth of levels ofproduction and employment and, consequently, if we are at the threshold of a crisis of the society centered on abstract labor. It is argued that in analyzing the more developed countries, where the immanent or underlying tendencies of the capitalist valorization logic are more developed, there is still no statistical evidence of a shift in the correlation between production and employment.
