The article studies the urgent issue of teaching the information science for economic and engineering specialties of the non-computer profile in universities. On the basis of international and domestic standards of curricula on the information science, the article offers the adapted graphical representation of environment of themes and competences, which the Information Science subject covers for non-profile specialties. The essence of adapted representation lies in identification of specific features of thematic content of curricula of the Information Science subject for students of economic and engineering specialties of the non-computer profile. Specialists in these directions do not deal with hardware, do not develop and improve software, but use them. That is why, they should be more acquainted with respect to problems of organisation of use of the profile information systems. This group of specialists should understand and set tasks, control, obtain and interpret results. They can manage introduction of information systems in their organisations, assist their enterprises in selection of computing products and services or identify requirements of their organisations in these products, participate in deployment and configuration of the system and determining a scope of users obligations. In order to understand the inter-branch character of the information science, the article systemises definitions of terms for specialised sub-branches. The article specifies prospective tasks of teaching information science to the students of non-profile specialties under conditions of development of high-technology branches of economy.В статье исследован актуальный вопрос преподавания информатики для экономических и инженерных специальностей некомпьютерного профиля в университетах. На основе международных и отечественных стандартов учебных планов по информатике было предложено адаптированное графическое представление пространства тем и компетенций, которое охватывает дисциплина «Информатика» для непрофильных специальностей. Сущность адаптированного представления состоит в определении особенностей тематического наполнения учебных планов дисциплины «информатика» для студентов экономических и инженерных специальностей некомпьютерного профиля. Специалисты этих направлений не занимаются аппаратным обеспечением, не разрабатывают и не развивают программное обеспечение, а используют их. Поэтому они должны быть более осведомленными относительно проблем организации использования профильных информационных систем. Эта группа специалистов должна понимать и ставить задачи, контролировать, принимать и интерпретировать результат. Они могут управлять внедрением информационных систем в своих организациях, помогать предприятию в выборе вычислительных продуктов и услуг или определять потребности организации в этой продукции, участвовать в развертывании и конфигурации системы и определении круга обязанностей пользователей. С целью понимания межотраслевого характера науки информатики систематизированы определения терминов для специализированных подотраслей. Намечены перспективные задачи обучения информатике студентов непрофильных специальностей в условиях развития высокотехнологичных отраслей экономики.
