Summary:The increasing pressure on water resources makes it essential to assess the quality of water for human consumption, in order to guarantee water of quality compatible with MS Ordinance 2914/2011. This study evaluated the quality of the water consumed in two districts of Osório-RS, in the physicochemical parameters (turbidity and fluoride) and bacteriological (total coliforms and fecal coliforms or Escherichia coli). The sampling was carried out with 5% of the residences of the districts of Aguapés - treated water provided by community networks, and of Passinhos - supply from individual wells of different depths, and occurred within points of consumption, through the monitoring of Environmental Surveillance of the Municipal Health Department. The results in Aguapés prove that the water quality is satisfactory, while in Passinhos they present a potential risk to health, where there is a need to adopt educational measures and / or the implementation of a community supply network.
