Summary:The adequate varicocele treatment is still unclear. After the comparison of clinical and morphological data (results of physical examination of the patients, value of resistive index in Doppler sonography, morphological analysis of incision biopsies obtained during left-sided varicocele operative treatment from 35 boys with age from 10 to 15 years and 10 adults) we conclude about compensatory reactions in scrotal vein walls at all stages of varicocele development, especially in 3 rd type veins. In adult patients with varicocele morphological changes in veins were more significant – vein wall prominent sclerosis was found, therefore operative treatment of this group patients seems to be more expedient.
