Summary:The paper presents the analysis of discursive interactions happening in collective level in a 3rd grade History class, under the context of an action research, aimed at the construction of the concept of migration by the students. The theoretical assumption was that the construction and appropriation of historic knowledge by them are not directly processed between the subject and the object to be known. Between them there is the mediator role of historic concepts and the mediated action of the teacher and the mediational means, that is, language, signs, and tools, in its construction by the students.
