Summary: | Introduction: The presence of Covid 19 brought a modality of distance study with it a series of
consequences such as visual fatigue. The test applied to students of the Master's Degree in
Occupational Risk Prevention of the National University of Chimborazo and Espiritu Santo de
Guayaquil shows that the frequency of use of a computer is: 4.3% exposed less than 2 hours,
17.4% from 2 to 4 hours, 45.7% from 4 to 8 hours and 32.6% more than 8 hours, which causes
symptoms of fatigue, musculoskeletal disorders and visual fatigue. The objective of the research
is to determine visual fatigue syndrome and its levels through the CVSS 17 test. The reliability of
the applied test is: 0.593, reliability 0.838. The results obtained on visual fatigue are: 39.1% are
symptomatic and 60.9% asymptomatic. The conclusions through the application of the test
determine the different levels of ocular symptoms that are at 80% moderate level 3 and 4; 2.2%
severe with serious problems in the short and medium term of damage to the ocular organ. The
correlation between sociodemographic variables and eyestrain is small. Telestudying and the
excessive use of the computer require preventive measures to reduce the present symptoms
through health surveillance
