Summary:This article discusses the pillars of the interaction between population pressure and development. Theoretical models of Malthus, Boserup, Bartlett, Johnson and Earle and Wilkinson are presented. The structural heterogeneity of agents and the different trajectories lead to the need of understanding the different spatial dynamics. This underscores the need to know and recognize the role of demographic pressure on social developments and opportunities of institutionalities setting up tailored to the idiosyncrasies. Keywords: demography, development, heterogeneity, institutionalities.
