Brasil en el inicio del siglo XX: La revuelta de la marinería en el año 1910, visto a través de la prensa “La Unión de Valparaíso”: un episodio doloroso de la historia, crímenes y violencia

The "Revolta da Chibata" of 1910 is a fact that has caused different opinions, and that until today there is no consensus on the matter. The modernization of Latin American countries in some of the relevant aspects, not only consisted of trying to get in tune with their predecessors, Hispanics, Lusitanians or others, but also incorporating elements and similar discourses to get closer and closer to Westernization -Europeizationmeans that the metropolises that exported as a necessity, to maintain the powers, their advances of the technological industrial revolution and the colonies provided the necessary raw materials; mining, agriculture, livestock, among the most required. Prepared products, industrial inputs and all kinds of technology arrived. Within this, he thought about the need for the war industry to appeal by the Brazilian authorities to address the British shipyards –among othersfor the present implementation of their naval squad. La “Revolta da Chibata” del año 1910 es un hecho que ha causado diferentes opiniones, y que hasta el día de hoy no existe consenso al respecto. La modernización de los países latinoamericanos en algunos de los aspectos relevantes, no sólo consistió en procurar ponerse a tono con sus antecesores, hispanos, lusitanos u otros, sino que incorporar elementos y discursos semejantes para acercarnos cada vez más a la occidentalización -europeización- por medios que las metrópolis que exportaban cómo necesidad, para mantener las potencias, su avances de la revolución industrial tecnológica y las colonias aportaran las materias primas necesarias; minería, agropecuarias, ganaderas, entre las más requeridas. Arribaban productos elaborados, insumos industriales y todo tipo de tecnología. Dentro de esto pensó en la necesidad por parte de la industria bélica de recurrir por parte de las autoridades brasileras en dirigirse a los astilleros británicos –entre otros- para la presente implementación de su escuadra naval.
