Summary:Eleven samples of associations of litothypes of coal in the vertical variation were collected of the Seam 1 of the El Bloque coal mine that is located in the municipality of Amaga (Antioquia). Then petrographic, palynological and chemical analyses were made. These analyses allow, to conclude that the paleomire that originated the m1 coal of the El Bloque coal mine was mainly associated to rheotrophic conditions, planar swamp with high freatic levels. Also the presence of Zonocostites ramonae together with some dinoflagelattes suggests that the paleomire was exposed to marine incursions.
