| Summary: | Guimaraes Rosa elaborates a web of senses that creates the sertao. The language game to which Riobaldo subjects himself elaborates both complex and dubious a space in which the reader (usually) gets lost. The sertao becomes a construction of language. The figure of ellipsis reinforces the intangible aspect of space, whose infinite limits end up desappearing in their own finitude. The appropriation of language by the mineiro writer reflects in a profound fashion the space and imagination of the sertao.
Guimarães Rosa tisse la toile de sens qui crée le sertão. Le jeu du langage auquel s‘adonne le protagoniste Riobaldo élabore un jeu de pistes dans lequel le lecteur se perd souvent. Le sertão devient une construction du langage, construction elliptique qui met en rapport l‘insaisissable de l‘espace, tellement étendu qu‘il finit par abolir les frontières et disparaître dans sa propre infinité. L‘appropriation du langage par l‘écrivain mineiro reflète ce qu‘il y a de plus profond dans l‘espace et l‘imaginaire du sertão. |
