Summary:This article describes the process of digital transformation in healthcare that has been occurring in recent years. The incorporation of new technologies into the practice of Medicine has become a new reality, bringing new challenges. The use of computerized systems, video webcalls, telemedicine, remote monitoring, access to electronic patient record systems online, medication prescription and digital prescription are some examples of this transformation. It can also cover the use of social networks, the internet of things, analytics, big data, artificial intelligence and high-speed 5G telecommunications networks, just to name a few different applications. In this article we present the current scenario, the challenges and the future of new possibilities in Medicine.
