THEORETICAL PSYCHOLOGY AND THE PROBLEM OF RESEARCHING PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT

Introduction. The article attempts to pose the problem of personality development from the position of theoretical psychology. Interpretations of the concept “theoretical psychology” are analyzed. The legitimacy of the study of personality development by theoretical psychology is substantiated. t is proposed to highlight a direction in theoretical psychology that explores personality development and defines its subject of research - personogenesis. Materials and methods. The research materials were scientific publications of domestic authors, which explicitly explore the problem of creating theoretical psychology in general and its section studying personality development. Theoretical research methods were used: theoretical analysis and generalization of materials presented in the scientific literature, their systematization. Results. The contribution of various domestic authors to the creation of theoretical psychology is revealed. The scientific status of theoretical psychology has been established as an independent direction of psychological science. Variants of the basic ideas of constructing theoretical psychology are identified: a systemic view of psychology; a view of mental activity as the activity of a subject to test his own hypotheses created simultaneously in several independent cognitive circuits; construction based on the principle of universal evolutionism, taking into account the laws of self-organization. The subject area of theoretical psychology has been clarified, primarily the study of the genesis of the psyche and consciousness. An attempt has been made to substantiate the legitimacy of studying from the position of theoretical psychology certain aspects of personality development that are related to its origin. Discussion and conclusions. It is legitimate to consider theoretical psychology as an independent scientific field of psychological science. The basic idea is a systematic view of the origin of the psyche and consciousness, complemented by synergetic principles of self-organization, as well as the idea of the psyche and consciousness as a way to establish the truth of the models of the worlds given to the subject. The subject of theoretical psychology research is the laws of the genesis of the psyche and consciousness. It can be assumed that personogenesis is also included in the subject area of theoretical psychology.
