Summary:Objectives: This study evaluates the validity and effectiveness of saliva-related factors through an examination of changes in the oral environment before and after scaling using the Sill-Ha ST-4910 saliva measurement system. Methods: For this study, 66 people who visited the Scaling Center of Dental Hygiene in Kangwon from September-December 2021 were recruited. There were two groups with 33 participants each: those who have received regular annual scaling (the regular scaling group) and those who had not been receiving regular scaling (the irregular scaling group). Results: The findings confirmed that dental and gingival health and oral cleanliness all improved after scaling compared to before scaling. Conclusions: Regular scaling is important, and has a clear effect on oral health promotion.
