Summary:Abstract Scientific approaches and realistic mathematical approaches are some of the approaches used in developing student knowledge. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the approach used on students' creative thinking abilities. Researchers conducted this research because the Indonesian government had recommended a scientific approach, but the results of students' creative thinking abilities until now were not optimal. The research method uses descriptive quantitative. Sampling using a purposive sampling technique and determination of the experimental class using the drawing technique. The questions used are prepared by researchers and teachers and have been through expert validation. The research subject is the ability of creative thinking students in class VIII B and VIII C. The results of this study, the class that is subjected to a mathematical realistic approach has the ability to think creatively better than the class with a scientific approach.. Keywords: scientific approach, realistic mathematics approach, creative thinking.     Abstrak Pendekatan saintifik dan pendekatan realistik matematik merupakan beberapa pendekatan yang digunakan dalam mengembangkan pengetahuan siswa. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh pendekatan yang digunakan terhadap kemampuan berfikir kreatif siswa. Peneliti melakukan penelitian ini karena pemerintah Indonesia pernah merekomendasikan pendekatan scientifik, namun hasil kemampuan berfikir kreatif siswa sampai saat ini belum optimal. Metode penelitian menggunakan kuantitatif deskriptif. Pemgambilan sample menggunakan teknik purposive sampling dan penentuan kelas eksperimen menggunakan teknik pengundian. Soal yang digunakan disusun oleh peneliti dan guru serta telah melalui validasi pakar. Subyek penelitian adalah kemampuan berfikir kreatif siswa kelas VIII B dan VIII C. Hasil penelitian ini, kelas yang dikenai pendekatan realistik matematik mempunyai kemampuan berfikir kreatif yang lebih baik daripada kelas dengan pendekatan saintifik. Kata kunci: Pendekatan Saintifik, Pendekatan Realistik Matematik, Berfikir Kreatif.
