Summary:Introduction: alcohol consumption in adolescents is considered a worldwide problem that has increased in recent years. This consumption may be associated to different factors, among them the consumption by their parents at home, mainly caused because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Objective: to know the prevalence of alcohol consumption in adolescents and the relationship that parental alcohol consumption has on the consumption of adolescents. Method: descriptive-correlational design. The sample was obtained online and consisted of 119 high school adolescents with an X̄ = 15.64 (SD = .89) years. Results: 62.2% of adolescents have consumed alcohol at some point in their life, 47.1% in the last year, 30.3% in the last month, 11.8% have consumed it within the last week and 20.2% have presented excessive consumption (binge drinking).
