Summary: | The article examines the problematic issues of the spread of bilingualism in modern Ukrainian society through the prism of the origin and stages of implementation of the state language policy. It was established that the history of our state quite often intersected with the history of many other ethnic groups, namely: Russian, Polish, European, as well as Crimean Tatar, but scientists have not yet determined a clear and integral image of the society of the Ukrainian state in its historical retrospect. The article emphasized that the path to the establishment of the Ukrainian language as the state language was quite difficult and long, because with each decline of statehood, the Ukrainian language was oppressed by the occupying state, which had a negative impact on the language situation in modern Ukraine. The article contains an overview of the prevalence of the socio-linguistic situation in society, which consists in the coexistence and interaction of two languages (in our case, Ukrainian and Russian) in the environment of one language group. Therefore, attention was focused on the fact that the loss of the stable position of the language in society, and with it the sense of national dignity, can lead to the disappearance of the number of the people at a time when the direct development of the corresponding features, and even a small nation, will help to protect itself from the penetration of foreign language, as well as the threat of absorption, the instinct of self-preservation is activated, which begins to resist at the right moment. |
