Nonlinear Analysis of Porous La 0.9 Ca 0.1 FeO 3-δ Electrodes in Oxygen Environments

Nonlinear electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (NLEIS) was performed on porous La 0.9 Ca 0.1 FeO 3-δ electrodes at 700, 750, and 800°C and 0.01, 0.21, and 1 atm O 2 . The measured response was compared to a simplified one-dimensional porous electrode model assuming a co-limitation of kinetic and t...

Summary:Nonlinear electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (NLEIS) was performed on porous La 0.9 Ca 0.1 FeO 3-δ electrodes at 700, 750, and 800°C and 0.01, 0.21, and 1 atm O 2 . The measured response was compared to a simplified one-dimensional porous electrode model assuming a co-limitation of kinetic and transport phenomena. The observed nonlinear trends were inconsistent with a bulk vacancy-only transport pathway or surface thermodynamics held at the independently-measured bulk values.
