整理在台湾与丧葬习俗有关的乞水，与端午习俗有关的划龙舟、迎龙王、祭江与洗港、乞午时水，与中元节有关的放水灯、拜圳头／拜媪仔，拜堤防、布桥接引水中孤魂、竹排仔普、牵水辕。与神明信仰有关的祭河江伯公、送王船、迎客王、请水、抓水路／扫溪路、刈海香，刈水香，刈山香、接天香、上白醮、巡安、海上绕境、划水仙，一共21个在海边、河边、溪边、或圳边举行的水边行事，说明其仪式的内容，并探讨其意义。汉人基本是一个大陆性的农业民族，但是生活在海岛的台湾汉人仍有许多相关的水边行事，可以探知汉民族对水的一些民俗概念和认知。...

| Bibliography: | folk customs, folk belief ritual, waterside customs, Han Chinese in Taiwan There arc many customs and rituals conducted on the side of seashore, river, creek, or irrigation in Tai- wan. Some of them are not so well-known. This paper attempts to describe such customs and rituals as many as possible. Begging for clean water, for example, is a custom related with funeral. Dragon boat racing, inviting Dragon King, bogging water at noon and purifying the river and the harbor are the related customs and rituals carried out in the Dragon Boat Festival. Releasing the water-lantern, worshiping at irrigation waterside, at the fish-pool, at the dike, receiving the dead souls through the cloth-bridge on the water, general salvation in the boats, and turning the bamboo baskets are the customs and rituals performed in the Hungry Ghost Festival. among others are customs and rituals concerning the worship of deities, such as worshipping the deities residing on the river, sending off the boat for the loyal lords, inviting the |
