Summary:A new and efficient method for the synthesis of benzoxazoles, benzothiazoles, benzimidazoles from reactions of o-substituted aminoaromatics with orthoesters in the presence of catalytic amounts of Ga（OTf）3 under solvent-free conditions is presented.
