Summary: | Countries developing policy for sustainable development may differ in terms of development criteria on a global scale. In this study, it is aimed to investigate the relationship between the demographic characteristics of the young people and the variables related to the attitude towards sustainable development and the canonical correlation analysis. Considering the importance of the approach towards sustainable development, which is important in terms of social, economic and environmental development, within the framework of young people forming the middle and old age groups in the future, the study emphasizes the importance of the study. Data were collected from young people by face to face survey method. Reliability analysis, frequency analysis and nonlinear canonical correlation analysis were performed. In this study, it was examined by nonlinear canonical correlation analysis where there is a relationship between the demographic characteristics of the youth and the variables related to the attitude towards sustainable development. As a result; It was determined that the professional variable contributed less to explain the attitude towards sustainable development compared to the income variable, and that the sociodemographic variable that provides the most important contribution to explaining the attitudes of young people towards sustainable development is the family income. In addition, it was determined that the economic dimension was the least contributing dimension in explaining the attitudes of the youth towards sustainable development. |
