The area around the Telița locality situated north‐west in the Tulcea County is well known in the specialty literature thanks to the discoveries proving the apparition and development of an important craft centre here in the late Roman period. In the vicinity of one of the villa rustica type of inhabiting structures, in 1968 and 1980 a rectangular kiln has been examined, near which over 200 clay projectiles have been discovered. The researches were conducted by G. Simion and V.H. Baumann, who made a thorough description of both the installation and the surrounding area, but without offering details concerning the usage of the pro-jectiles, production planning and analogies to other regions of the Empire. The starting point for this article is the attempt to elucidate some of the aspects listed above, together with the analysis of the particular rela-tion between this oven and the productive structures nearby.
