Summary:The Cittaslow movement, which emerges as a local development model, is a philosophy that aims to raise the quality of life and to bring the idea of carrying destinations to the national dimension by evaluating themselves in the light of sustainability and preserving the values held in the future. The aim of this study, evaluation of the appropriateness within the framework of the criteria included in the Cittaslow Manifest which included the Ihlara Valley in the Cappadocia Region, which has been hosted by many civilizations in the historical process within the scope of creation of sustainable destinations and is considered to be one of the important centers of the Christian religion, The current situation has been determined and the Cittaslow Association has been prepared to identify what needs to be done for membership. For this purpose, interviews with the local administrators, the Provincial Directorate of Tourism, the Directorate of Food, Agriculture and Livestock have been conducted and the necessary information has been obtained by using the interview method in the Cittaslow Manifest. It has been determined that the Cittaslow Association has the necessary conditions to be able to apply for the application with a participatory strategy that provides a total of 45 credits in line with the information obtained and with the participation of local people and other stakeholders.
