Summary:This paper aims to examine the specifics of working on a poetic text with children’s and youth choirs regarding the musical interpretation of a piece. Working on the lyrics has two aspects - the children’s emotional experience with the meaning of the lyrics and the delivery of the intention behind the words to the listeners, determined by achieving clear diction and articulation. Accordingly, methods and approaches for reaching those objectives are presented, and the peculiarities of working on foreign language lyrics are mentioned.
