Summary:The reactions of CF OCl with SbX (X = F, Cl) and AsF at 195 K yield the adducts CF OCl · SbX and CF OCl · AsF respectively. At 213 K CF OCI · SbCl forms SbCl F, Cl and OCF , while compounds CF OCl · MF (M = As, Sb) slowly decompose giving ClF, OCF and mixed M(V) halides. The formation of IF , OCF and Cl in the oxidative fluorination of I with CF OCl at 293 K is described. Br reacts with CF OCl to give BrF under similar conditions.
