Summary: | In wireless sensor network, sensor nodes generate continuous data, such as the variety of ambient temperature and humidity data. Because of the sensor node energy is limited, frequently transmiting data will lead to the sensor node energy consume too fast. In addition, there are usually active nodes that produce data or query data more frequently in sensor network, if using traditional data centric storage method will produce the hotspot problem. In this paper, we proposed an improved ring-based data storage and retrieval model named IRSR. IRSR divides the nodes into some rings and chooses an optimal ring according to the frequencies of event and query, and uses adjacency ring rotation working to ensure the network load balance. We show by simulation that IRSR achieves more balanced traffic load on sensor nodes and prolongs the lifetime of the senor networks even under the extreme circumstance. |
