Summary:In this study, we investigated the influence of visual effect on the perception of weight by changing the impression of the arm in AR. In the experiment, subjects compared the weights of two dumbbells by the arm with/without the AR visual effect. The AR visual effect were displayed by holding and lifting the dumbbell so that the impression of the arm strength was changed. The results showed that the AR visual effect tended to create the weight illusion, although the differences with/without the AR visual effect were not significant.
