Radical cyclization approach to synthesis of enantiopure proline derivatives

beta-Amino alcohols possessing a vinylsilane functionality were transformed into bicyclic derivatives via a diastereoselective 5-exo-trig radical cyclization. Straightforward transformation led to enantiopure proline derivatives.
