Summary:A series of 1, 4-dihydro-2, 6-dimethyl-4-{4-[3-(2-aminopyrazine/1-amino-4-methyl piperazine)-2-hydroxy propoxy]phenyl}-pyridine-3, 5-carbamoyl have been synthesized and the structure of the compounds have been confirmed by IR, H-1 NMR, MS & elemental analysis. The title compounds have been evaluated for antihypertensive activity by tail-cuff method. Some of these compounds have been found to exhibit excellent anti hypertensive activity.
