I do not claim that there is anything of more interest in my storied life than in anyone else’s, but this particular story made me curious. My curiosity was not about the events the story narrates, which have been well known to me for many years, but about the way the story appeared; the way it continues to interact with me and with others. I want, if I can, to uncover more about the life of this story.
