Summary: | Polylithic integration of a reference surface acoustic wave (SAW) quartz-on silicon (QoS) oscillator for single-chip radio was presented. The presentation shows feasibility of integration of reference oscillator on CMOS circuits using PLIC on QoS wafer. A SAW oscillator using the PLIC technology has-120dBc/Hz phase noise at 100kHz offset and a voltage controlled oscillators (VCO)-114dBc /Hz phase noise at 10kHz offset over a 270-290MHz range. Results showed that peprototype digitally temperature compensated SAW oscillator (DTCSO) is composed of capacitor bank controlled by digital compensation block, two SAW resonators, and PROM. |
