Summary:Production-ecological characteristics (biomass dynamics, population density, size structure) and phenology of Carex pilosa S c o p. population in Carici pilosae-Fagetum O b e r d. 1957 community were estimated in submountain-sedge beech forest stand during its life cycle. Aboveground biomass of juvenile individuals culminated in September (60.03 g.m super(-2)), offshoots density in May (240 shoots per m super(2)). Juvenile individuals reached the height maximum in July (40.1 cm). The life cycle lasted 680 days, generative cycle didn't represent more than 20% of the whole cycle during researched years from 1994-1996.
