Summary:The main aim of this article was to evaluate the possibility of sugar beet feed rate measurement with capacitance sensor. The measuring device consisted from belt conveyor and capacitance sensor developed in our laboratory was built for that purpose. Laboratory tests with material feed rate from 3 to 25 kg/s showed that output signals from capacitance sensor depended linearly on material feed rate. Achieved coefficients of determination were calculated to the value R2 = 0.98. Tested capacitance sensor is potential approach to yield map creation from a sugar beet harvest.
